Summary of Position Teaching across both the BSW and MSW curriculum. Must be willing to teach on two campuses, Big Rapids and Traverse City, but the primary teaching load will be on the Big Rapids campus. Responsibilities include academic advising, off campus teaching and contributing to the ongoing development of the Department of Social Work. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching, the ability to work effectively with both faculty colleagues and students, and participation in other functions of academic significance.

Required Qualifications

Required Education Candidate must have a Masters in Social Work ( MSW ).

Required Work Experience At least two years of post- MSW clinical social work practice by the time of appointment. The successful candidate must demonstrate the potential for higher education teaching excellence and the ability to work effectively with both the faculty and students.

Required Licenses and Certifications Applicants must have or be eligible and apply for Michigan Social Work Licensure upon appointment.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered Ph.D. Preferred. Evidence of two or more years of teaching experience in social work. A strong clinical background with evidence of expertise in mental health, child welfare and/or gerontology. Trauma informed practice experience preferred. Applicants
must be possess or be eligible for and apply for the Michigan Social Work License upon appointment.
