Summary of Position This is a position within the School of Digital Media at Ferris State University. The faculty position will teach courses and advise students for the Digital Animation and Game Design program primarily from the Big Rapids campus. Courses may be assigned on the Grand Rapids campus as needed.

Required Qualifications
Required Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Animation, Fine Arts, Game Design or related field. Candidate will be required to obtain a Master's degree within three years of employment with the University.
Required Work Experience Four years of animation, visualization or game design work experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for undergraduate teaching excellence, ability to contribute to the ongoing development of the department, and present strong interpersonal and communication skills needed to work effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered
Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered Master's in Media, Computer Information Systems, Education or related field. Two years teaching experience. Familiarity with software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite, Mudbox/Zbrush) and techniques (e.g., modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, compositing and retouching) applicable to product visualization and games.

Duties Serves as an academic advisor for the Digital Animation and Game Design ( DAGD ) program. Includes regular advising dates and times. Advises students on equivalent community college courses; assists with student registration; verifies consortium forms; and reviews graduation audit requirements.

Participates in program development by recruiting new students; attends career and college fairs; visits local middle and high schools to inform students and counselors of careers in DAGD .
