Post-Doctoral Fellow in Psychology

Job Description
The Post- Doctoral Fellow in Psychology is a one year appointment that will provide clinical services to students including intake, ongoing counseling/psychotherapy, case management, walk-in assessment/triage, group therapy, and crisis intervention. Participates in training activities for Master's and Doctoral level trainees. Provides consultation and outreach to colleagues, students, faculty, staff, and parents regarding student problems in order to coordinate support, success, and well-being of students and community. Develops and/manages programs.

Required Qualifications
Completion of all professional doctoral degree requirements by August 1, 2018.
Experience providing brief individual and group therapy, emergency assessments, and crisis intervention.
Experience applying college student development theory. Experience working with a full range of college student mental health concerns.
Ability to work on-call rotation which requires occasional evenings and weekends.
Experience operating a personal computer with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates preferred from APA approved doctoral programs and internships in psychology.
Experience providing clinical service for one or more of the following issues: substance use/abuse, sexual and other trauma/ PTSD , crisis and walk-in students, or personality disorders.
Experience providing psychological testing/evaluation and report writing for diagnostic and treatment purposes.
Experience working with multidisciplinary treatment teams preferred.
Experience providing multicultural competent counseling and outreach with under-served or minority populations.
Experience with faculty, staff, and student group consultation, liaison functions, program evaluation, quality assurance, or college student mental health research.

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties
•Provides clinical services to the student population including intake, ongoing counseling/psychotherapy, walk-in assessment, triage personal/career counseling, consultation and referral, group therapy, case management, triage, on-call, and emergency crisis intervention.
•Maintains clinical documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards on an electronic health record system.
•Participates in training activities for Master's and Doctoral level trainees.
•Provides consultation and outreach to colleagues, students, faculty, staff, and/or parents in order to coordinate support, development, and well-being of students and community.
•Works collaboratively with other departments in the University.
•Adheres to and complies with HIPAA , FERPA , and ADA and State Statutes and Ethics Code, and IACS Accreditation Standards.
•Assists in the day to day operation of the Counseling and Psychological Services and the Division of Student Affairs.
•Participates in the on-call rotation which requires occasional evening and weekend work.

Other Duties
•Performs other duties as assigned.
