Virginia Tech is a public land-grant university, committed to teaching and learning, research, and outreach to the Commonwealth of Virginia, the nation, and the world. Building on its motto of Ut Prosim (that I may serve), Virginia Tech is dedicated to InclusiveVT-serving in the spirit of community, diversity, and excellence. We seek candidates who adopt and practice the Principles of Community, which are fundamental to our on-going efforts to increase access and inclusion, and to create a community that nurtures learning and growth for all of its members. Virginia Tech actively seeks a broad spectrum of candidates to join our community in preparing leaders for the world.

Virginia Tech's Center for Neutrino Physics (http://cnp.phys.vt.edu) invites applications for a postdoctoral associate position in experimental neutrino physics. The successful candidate will work on the development, construction and data analysis of the CHANDLER Reactor Neutrino detector. The focus of the CHANDLER detector program is twofold: first, to search for short-baseline neutrino oscillations by deploying a ton-scale CHANDLER detector at a baseline of 6 to 12 meters from the BR2 reactor in Belgium, and second, to demonstrate the potential for reactor neutrino detectors to track plutonium production in nuclear reactors and prevent its diversion into nuclear weapons production

Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in experimental particle or nuclear physics or another closely related field.
They must be able to work independently, while at the same time contributing constructively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with both hardware and data analysis is preferred.
