Job Description
The Staff Clinician/Coordinator, Professional Relations/Education provides clinical services to students including intake, ongoing counseling/psychotherapy, case management, walk-in assessment/triage, group therapy, and on-call and crisis intervention. Provides mental health screenings and works collaboratively with the training director to provide initial and continued training of graduate students at Counseling and Psychological Services ( CAPS ). Represents CAPS through consultation and through developing and presenting education and outreach programs.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in Mental Health Counseling, Guidance, Psychology, or Rehabilitation Counseling.
One year experience with short-term individual, group therapy, emergency assessments, and crisis intervention.
Licensed as a Mental Health Counselor or Social Worker in the state of Florida; or obtain within one year from date of hire in accordance with Chapter 491, F.S.
Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications
Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Social Worker in the state of Florida.
Two years of experience in a College/University Counseling Center.
Depth of experience in at least one area of counseling/psychotherapy practice, such as eating disorders, dialectical behavior therapy ( DBT ), substance abuse, multicultural counseling (especially Latino/a), depression and anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder ( PTSD ), grief or group work.
Experience with Titanium Schedule software.
Experience in marketing and community relations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of developmental and counseling issues for college/university populations.
Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) applications.
Knowledge of or ability to learn Titanium Schedule software.
Knowledge of data collection, program planning, and evaluation techniques.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility.
Excellent clinical skills.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced skills in at least one area of counseling/psychotherapy practice.
Ability to create and foster positive working relationships.
Ability to establish and build rapport with students, staff, etc.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and creatively contribute to the Division of Student Affairs and the University.
Ability to apply sound judgment and discretion in confidential matters.
Ability and willingness to solicit sponsorships.

Salary Range
$52,000 - $55,000

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties
• Provides counseling and therapy services such as personal/career counseling, consultation and referral, group therapy, case management, triage, on-call, emergency, and crisis intervention to the student population.
• Adheres to professional confidentiality requirements in handling student records.
• Works collaboratively with the training director to provide initial and continued training of graduate students at CAPS .
• Provides licensed supervision to graduate students and registered mental health counselor interns.
• Organizes and coordinates continuing education opportunities for mental health graduate students and pre-doc interns in CAPS and professionals and students at FGCU , as well as outside the University.
• Assumes a leadership role in developing and maintaining relationships with referral sources through identification and solicitation of outside providers of mental health services.
• Manages databases for referrals.
• Manages education and sponsorship functions.
• Serves in on-call rotation.
• Serves as essential personnel and provides assistance in the event of an emergency on campus.
