DEAN, LIBERAL ARTS

 

Harper College is currently seeking applicants for the position of Dean, Liberal Arts. The Dean is responsible for leading and administering the instructional and support service programs of the Liberal Arts Division. The successful candidate will develop and manage the operating budget; supervise and evaluate staff and faculty; and develop and recommend class schedules, including assigning full and part-time faculty. You will also schedule and conduct regular Division meetings, serve on all divisional search committees and make  recommendations for retention, promotion and/or tenure appointments.

 

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Higher Education/ Community College Administration or a discipline represented in the Division
• Doctorate or other terminal degree preferred.
• Significant, successful, collegiate-level teaching experience
• Progressively more responsible experience in an administrative capacity within an academic environment or appropriate instructional setting
• Community college experience preferred.
