Director, Family Resource Center

Job Description
The Director of the Family Resource Center is responsible for the daily operations of the center, supervising and hiring staff, planning and managing the center's budget, maintaining the licensing and accreditation status, and conducting fundraising efforts.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or closely related field.
Five years of experience with children in a full-time licensed child care facility or public/private school program.
Current Florida Child Care Director Credential or eligible to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Current American Red Cross CPR / AED and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate degree from an accredited institution in Early Childhood Education or closely related field.
Three years of experience as an early childhood teacher.
Successful administrative experience of a licensed child care facility.
Successful teaching, scholarship, and service experience.
Experience writing, securing, and administering grants for innovative initiatives.
Experience with the Reggio Emilia Approach and philosophy for Reggio Inspired early care and education.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of state and local rules and regulations which govern childcare, NAEYC accreditation standards, and Florida Sunshine State Standards, childcare standards in the areas of health, safety and nutrition, and state regulations governing the identification and reporting of child abuse and neglect.
Knowledge of child development including typical and atypical language, cognitive, motor, social, and self-help skills development.
Knowledge of educational program development and the ability to design and deliver high quality interpretive programs to infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Skill in public speaking, group facilitation, and partnership building.
Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate university students in early childhood content and methods courses.
Ability to provide services to all children and families with respect and dignity
Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work collaboratively and build strategic relations with colleagues, coworkers, constituents, and volunteers.
Ability to manage a budget and work within the constraints of that budget.
Ability to work in an environment that includes young children and numerous interruptions and function under pressure.

Salary Range
$50,000 - $51,000

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties
•Oversees the daily operations of the Family Resource Center ( FRC ). Develops and manages operating budgets, hires and supervises staff, maintains state licensure and accreditation status, and participates in fundraising efforts.
•Directs the FRC and provides programmatic and instructional leadership to maintain National Association for the Education of Young Children ( NAEYC ) accreditation as outlined in the mission and vision of the center.
•Serves as a Teaching Director, teaching infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children.
•Serves as liaison for FRC , University, parents, and the surrounding community to ensure that childcare routines are consistent with good child development principles.
•Ensures the health, safety, welfare, and accountability of children through constant supervision.
•Maintains written records monitoring child's progress in all areas of development. Ensures that parents receive adequate information about their child's experiences.
•Provides direction and guidance to staff and includes staff in planning and assignments.
•Supervises students in field experience, internships, and student volunteers.
