Director of Institutional Effectiveness

Description:  The Director of Institutional Effectiveness will coordinate university-wide assessment and institutional effectiveness activities including learning outcomes assessment in general education and academic degree programs. Other responsibilities will include assisting academic units in preparing proposals for new programs and program modifications to be submitted to the SC Commission on Higher Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, maintaining the faculty contracts database, assisting with preparation of faculty contracts, and overseeing the completeness of documentation of qualifications in faculty personnel files.

 

Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor's degree and professional experience as a planner, researcher or statistician.  A minimum of two years direct experience in institutional effectiveness is required. Master's degree preferred. Direct experience in institutional effectiveness in a higher education setting preferred. Knowledge of and experience with regional accreditation requirements is preferred. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics.  A valid driver’s license and safe driving history.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of research and statistical methods. Knowledge of the compilation, analysis and presentation of statistical and research data. Knowledge of management, organizational and administrative methods and techniques. Ability to interpret agency policies and procedures. Ability to conduct workshops on assessment and provide guidance for units in the development of assessment plans and the analysis of assessment results. Proficiency in data analysis and ability to produce clear presentations of data for diverse audiences. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.

 

This position will begin on July 2, 2018. 

Hire Range:  $48,000 – $52,000 annually

University Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday

Position Work Hours:  37.5 hours per week.
