Pre-College Programs Director - Office of the Executive Vice President


A new department working jointly with the Office of the Executive Vice President and the Provost develops and implements university wide programming intended to generate substantial revenue. It is a fast-paced, nimble environment made of highly-trained professionals who love the higher education environment and are committed to providing world class education in the 21st century to a wide variety of students. Programs under this department today include Pre-College, Open Enrollment programs, and English Language Learning programs. The department is expected to grow substantially in the future to include Executive Education, university wide degrees, Encore Career programs, and more.

The position of Pre-College Programs Director is responsible for the strategy, development, and implementation of pre-college programs at Tufts University. Such programs will introduce high school students to new fields of interest and study while giving them the opportunity to sample the college experience. The programs may be commuter or residential, limited term or year-round. In close collaboration with school-level directors, faculty, administration and support units, the Pre-College Programs Director will be responsible for developing new and growing existing programming. The position will identify strategic opportunities to respond to the needs of precollege students, designing and be responsible for implementing the programs to meet those needs.

The Pre-College Programs Director helps to source partnerships with organizations that provide scholarships for diverse students. She/he develops analytics and tracking mechanisms to report out on performance and constantly iterates to improve performance. He/she collaborates with University Marketing and other functions to implement programs. She/he designs and implements workflow process for student recruitment and enrollment. He/she engages with the rest of the department as a team player, ready to help where needed, problem solve, and work towards the greater good. This position is for someone who gets things done, who has an all-hands-on-deck mentality, and is comfortable having clear performance targets and being measured against them on a regular basis.



Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree and 5-7 years experience in educational (broadly defined) program development and operations.
  • Excellent business skills, relationship management skills and experience working with various internal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master s degree preferred.
  • Higher Education or Pre-College Programming experience preferred.
