The Adelphi University Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for a visiting assistant professorship (1 year contract) in applied mathematics or statistics beginning August 27, 2018.
Potential for excellent teaching at an undergraduate institution is essential. The course load is 18 credits for the academic year. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a broad range of major courses. A doctoral degree in mathematics or statistics with a background in Applied mathematics or statistics , or closely related discipline is required. ( Consideration will be given to an advanced doctoral candidate.) Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
A complete application must include a curriculum vitae; a letter of application; a teaching statement; and three letters of recommendation, at least one of which addresses teaching effectiveness.
