Environmental Laboratory Manager

Position Summary:
Manages activities in the Environmental Engineering laboratories to ensure smooth and safe operation. Oversees and enforces laboratory safety procedures, chemical hygiene, chemical inventory, and waste management. Advises staff and students in experimental design and implementation in a manner that ensures safety and minimizes waste generation. Maintains laboratory infrastructure and manages common equipment and other resources to promote efficient use.

Required Qualifications:
-Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field or equivalent level of training and/or related experience.
-Familiarity with the OSHA Lab Standard, proper handling procedures for hazardous materials, and basic water quality analyses.
-Must have ability to train and direct students and other personnel in safety procedures and waste handling.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in equipment management, maintenance, and repair.
-Knowledge and experience in more advanced analytical chemical procedures for complex environmental samples.
-Experience with biosafety level 2 operations and requirements.
