4-H Youth Development, Organizational Specialist

Position Summary:
The 4-H Organizational Specialist is an administrative, professional, faculty position and reports to the State 4-H Program Leader. Working in collaboration with other State 4-H Faculty, this position provides assistance in leading and delivering 4-H educational programs that meet the needs of Virginia's Youth. The 4-H Organizational Specialist will be responsible for providing leadership to 4-H systems including, but not limited to: 4-H club development/management, risk management, affiliated 4-H groups, 4-H volunteers, mentoring, and military partnerships. The 4-H Organizational Specialist will work in the State 4-H Office on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.

Required Qualifications:
PhD candidate or earned doctorate in Education, Extension Education, Family and Child Development, Higher Education Administration, Leadership, Youth Program Management or related discipline required. Extension experience working with youth development programs; particularly 4-H; demonstrated leadership abilities and experience; management experience; strong volunteer leadership, and excellent communication and organizational skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated state and national level 4-H Extension experience, including working with 4-H military partnerships and mentoring programs.
