Position Summary:
This role is for a talented Multimedia Designer who can apply his/her strong visual sense to the creative development of print and digital design at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute ( VTTI ). The successful applicant will report to the Manager of Technical Editing and Writing. The Multimedia Designer is responsible for generating figures and graphics for grant proposals/research reports, designing materials and websites for all VTTI research centers, and creating video & print content for research projects and special events. We are looking for a creative, thorough, and innovative team player who thrives in a demanding and fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will have excellent project management and communication skills along with a willingness to contribute to team efforts.

Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
-Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs, Adobe Premiere, Acrobat Professional, and Microsoft Office
-Experience in graphic design for print and digital media
-Demonstrated ability to produce creative, effective, visual approaches to a variety of print and broadcast materials within established deadlines in a work environment
-Experience in photo editing/manipulation
-Experience with video editing software
-Demonstrated ability to handle several projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working in an academic and/or research environment
-Experience with exhibit design and the development of large-format graphics
-Photography skills
-Experience in video production and post-production
-Experience with HTML , XHTML , CSS , JavaScript, and their uses in responsive design
-Experience with three-dimensional rendering using CAD
