Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

This is a non-tenure track position and is subject to annual renewal. The successful candidate will join an interactive group that includes 4 other faculty clinical pathologists and 2-3 residents in clinical pathology. The Clinical Lecturer will participate in diagnostic service, training of residents, and instruction of veterinary students. He/she also will be encouraged to become involved in collaborative or clinical pathology research projects. This position provides the opportunity to strengthen existing skills in clinical pathology, and to develop specialized expertise in particular laboratory activities. Time and assistance will be provided for preparation for the ACVP certifying examination in Veterinary Clinical Pathology (as needed).

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must hold a DVM or equivalent degree and must have satisfactorily completed 3 years of residency training in Veterinary Clinical Pathology before starting this position. Excellent communication skills are essential. . The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.

Desired Qualifications

Board certification in Veterinary Clinical Pathology by the ACVP and an advanced graduate degree are desirable, but are not required.
