Evaluation and Assessment Coordinator - Office of Educational Affairs, School o

The Office of Educational Affairs (OEA) facilitates and coordinates the development and implementation of the four-year medical school curriculum, evaluation, and assessment. Also, the office provides support services for the faculty and students, and manages administrative and business affairs, including grants, and maintenance of the clinical skill center.

Provides specialized subject knowledge to develop, implement, review and evaluate all medical school courses, programs, clerkships, and fourth-year rotations in collaboration with the Director of Evaluation and Assessment. Provides primary support to the TUSM Curriculum Committee, which, through subcommittees, annually conducts detailed peer reviews of all required courses and core clerkships (each course and clerkship are reviewed every three years). Holds primary responsibility for maintaining the secure testing question database. Creates first- and second-year exams for the medical school program as well as for some courses of the Masters of Biomedical Science (MBS) program based off this database and posts them online. Serves as a proctor for the written and clinical skills exams. Provides assistance, training, and instruction at faculty workshops on the use of ExamSoft as well as quality exam question writing. Participates in the exploration of new software systems related to evaluation and assessment. Assists in medical education research projects.


Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree in health related discipline and 3 years of experience in related field of study OR Master s degree and 1-2 years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master s degree in health related discipline and 3 years of experience in related field of study.
  • Data management skills.
  • Ability to type 50 words per minute.
  • Should be resourceful and able to initiate, maintain, develop and enhance relationships with a broad range of internal and external constituents.
  • Ability to prioritize work and follow through on workflow using sound judgment and strategy.
  • Sensitivity, good judgment, professional manner, flexibility and ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential qualities.
  • Ability to train and teach others.
  • Ability to function under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment and pay attentions to details.
  • Ability to multiple tasks simultaneously, often with continual interruption.
