The Department of Neuroscience is a basic science department that focuses on cutting-edge research in the areas of synapse development and function, sensory systems, and complex behavior, cognitive neuroscience and behavioral neurobiology. We are supported by funding from the federal government, private foundations, and industry. The faculty within the department is also extensively involved with the Sackler School of Biomedical Graduate Biomedical Science Program in Neuroscience as well as teaching within the medical school.
Under close supervision of Principal Investigator, conducts a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols. There are two primary functions of this position: 1) Genotyping and managing a mouse colony, 2) Preparation of primary neuronal cell cultures. Having prior experiences in stem cell culture and immunoblotting is a plus.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in science with up to 1 year laboratory experience.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures.
Special Work Requirements:
May work with and be exposed to hazardous chemicals and materials, human/animal tissue and fluids, radiation.
