The NEPS Labs conducts studies aimed at the identification, evaluation, and understanding of nutritional and physical activity interventions that possess anabolic properties in skeletal muscle and have the potential to prevent or reverse impaired motor performance and/or physical dysfunction in older adults.
Under close supervision of Principal Investigator, independently conducts a variety of routine and specialized laboratory experiments with accuracy and minimal training or supervision. Performs specialized techniques and makes decisions regarding the appropriate protocol or procedure necessary to achieve desired results, the reliability and accuracy of the results, and whether modifications or repetition is necessary. Records test results and analyze data derived from experiments. May provide work direction to others in the lab.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in science with up to 1 year laboratory experience.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Tissue culture experience preferred.
- Experience with PCR also preferred.
Special Work Requirements:
May work with and be exposed to hazardous chemicals and materials, human/animal tissue and fluids, radiation.
