Adelphi University's School of Social Work is seeking experienced adjunct faculty to teach in our Online MSW program (OMSW) starting August 2018. The OMSW invites top-level applicants from around the country to apply. Adjunct faculty can teach online courses from anywhere in the world via a Broadband internet connection.
Adelphi's OMSW program involves teaching live online sessions in a virtual classroom, asynchronous and/or in-person teaching during residencies. Residencies take place in January and August for a maximum of 4 days. Practice and policy courses are taught during the residencies. Adjunct faculty are needed to teach in all areas but primarily in the following areas:
Social welfare policy
Social work practice
Advanced social work (direct) practice
All faculty are required to participate in an online asynchronous orientation and one live orientation in early July. Adjunct faculty must be available to participate in monthly virtual meetings. Traveling expenses for residences portion will not be provided
Applicants will be reviewed and screened by the OMSW director and the School of Social Work's Office of Academic Affairs.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must possess an MSW or Masters degree in a related behavioral science discipline. Individuals teaching social work practice courses must have an MSW and a minimum of 2 years post-MSW practice experience. MSW applicants must be licensed in their jurisdiction. Online teaching experienced including synchronous teaching preferred. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship.
