Program Support Technician - CRC

Position Summary:
Program Support Technician serves as the first point of contact for the Computer Science Department located off campus in the Corporate Research Center. This position assists visitors, and provides administrative support for the Computer Science department, the Office Manager, Graduate Coordinator, and Business Office.

Required Qualifications:
- Administrative support experience in an academic or professional office environment.
- Proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated basic clerical office skills such as answering the telephone and disseminating information.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively, and respectfully with individuals in a diverse academic environment.
- Must be able to handle difficult situations, prioritize tasks, pay attention to detail, multitask, and ensure confidentiality.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Must be able to safely move and handle objects weighing up to 25lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with university policies and procedures.
- Experience with Graduate Admissions and payroll.
- Experience with large relational databases such as Banner, Student Banner, HokieMart, and Leave system.
- Experience with web content management systems.
