Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry

Elmhurst College invites applications for a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry with preferred background in Organic, Medicinal or Biochemistry. Candidates should have a commitment to creating inclusive learning environments for a diverse student body.

Essential Functions
. Main teaching responsibilities include introductory courses such as general education courses, general chemistry for science majors, general organic and biochemistry for pre-nursing majors.
. ideal candidate will also be capable of teaching majors-level organic and biochemistry labs and lectures as needed.
. Development of an upper-level elective course in area of expertise may be possible.
. The teaching load is eight course credits per year with lectures counting as 1.0 course credits and labs counting as 0.5 course credits each.

Minimum Qualifications
. Evidence of outstanding teaching or teaching potential is essential.
. A masters degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. is preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
