Research Laboratory Specialist

Position Summary:
The successful candidate is expected to work independently or with others to accomplish research projects by performing mammalian and bacterial cell culture experiments, data collection and analysis, and laboratory organization and maintenance. The research projects also involve other routine assays such as PCR , flow cytometry and Western blot analysis.

Required Qualifications:
Successful candidate must have a Bachelor degree in the biological sciences or equivalent level of training and/or lab experience; experience in sterile cell culture techniques, making bacterial medium, growing bacterial cultures. Must be self-motivated after initial supervision, willing to learn new experimental skills, and to work individually and collaboratively with a variety of individuals for more than one projects simultaneously. Must be able to safely move and handle up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with flow cytometry, PCR , primary cell line maintenance, making media, data analysis and data preparation for publication. Manuscript writing also desired.
