Scaffold Builder Lead

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Hokie Stone Manager, the Scaffold Builder Lead will direct a crew in building various types of scaffolding in support of installation, repair and maintenance activities associated with Hokie Stone building envelops and site walls to maintain the structural integrity of those systems and components. The incumbent will assist with building fa ade repairs when scaffold erection is not taking place.

Required Qualifications:
- Verifiable experience erecting systems and frame scaffolding.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to perform heavy manual labor, including safely moving and handling up to and greater than 100 pounds; climbing and working from elevated workstations such as ladders and scaffolds; working for long periods of time sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, pushing/pulling; and working in all types of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- Ability to communicate effectively, work as an effective team member, and receive and execute instructions from the immediate supervisor and/or lead worker.
- May be required to work additional hours/shifts to meet the needs of the department.
- This is a designated emergency personnel position.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous OSHA training for 29 CFR 1926, subparts L and M.
- Experience installing dimensionally sawn stone and rubble stone for building veneer walls.
- Related experience in a large commercial or educational setting.
- Experience operating man lifts.
- Experience operating all-terrain, telescoping forklifts.
- Experience laying CMU and brick.
- Experience fabricating flashing components for barrier and cavity stone walls.
