iScholars Spring/Summer Coordinator

Position Summary:
The position of iScholars Spring/Summer Coordinator is a wage emergency hire position reporting to the Associate Director for Strategic Initiatives in the Office of the Vice President for the National Capital Region ( OVP NCR ). The iScholars Spring/Summer Coordinator will manage the 2018 iScholars National Capital Region ( NCR ) internship program through mid-August 2018. The program is based in Blacksburg but will require summer residence in the NCR in University provided housing from May 15th - August 15th.
• Coordinate and support student application process including program interviews
• Communicate with student applicants and accepted students
• Communicate with corporate partners and employers
• Coordinate student professional development and career enrichment activities
• Provide day-to-day supervision for student interns working for the iScholars program
• Provide supervision at WeLive to ensure students abide Virginia Tech policies and procedures
• Coordinate and execute summer field trips and seminar series
• Track student participate in summer iScholars activities
• Support NCR strategic initiatives related to undergraduate experiential learning
• Provide on-call support as required
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
• MS degree in relevant field (higher education, human resources management, business, science, or engineering)
• Experience with program development and implementation
• Experience working with corporate partners
• Experience in sales and marketing
• Experience working with undergraduates
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in innovation and entrepreneurial sectors
• Experience in web development and maintenance
