Associate Director, Portfolio Management (Annual Giving)

As a member of the Wheaton Fund team, the Associate Director, Portfolio Management will take the lead role in soliciting leadership gifts to the Wheaton Fund.

Reporting to the Director of the Wheaton Fund, the Associate Director will be assigned a personal portfolio of 150-200 prospects with special emphasis on soliciting gifts at the Mary Lyon Leadership Society. Responsibilities include identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of alumni, parents, faculty/staff, and friend prospects through personal visits and other individualized contacts, and volunteer identification.

The Associate Director will work closely with members of the Wheaton Fund team to increase the number of Wheaton Fund leadership donors and dollars each and every year.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience (advancement, marketing, communications, sales, customer relations, financial, legal, etc.) required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and proofreading skills.
• Must be comfortable and creative as a computer user and interested in using technology to streamline activities; ability to adapt to changing technologies is essential.
• Strong skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
• Ability to deal with confidential information with complete discretion required.
• Ability to work with and rely on others within team and Division, as well as outside vendors, to accomplish programmatic responsibilities.
• Must be flexible with changing priorities, and able to change directions mid-stream to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to function effectively in fast-paced, high-volume work place and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Must be well-organized, detail-oriented, capable of working independently as well as in a team, and have good decision-making skills.
• High degree of professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Preference given to candidates with experience in either higher education, legal, or financial institutions.
• Familiarity with Windows and Macintosh environment preferred.
