Teaching responsibilities include laboratory sections for the 100-level introduction to chemistry course and for the 200-level general chemistry courses (two to four sections per semester). In addition, the position requires holding office hours and attending regular meetings with the Chemistry Department.
The Laboratory Instructor will work with faculty on the laboratory curriculum to upgrade and refine the existing laboratory exercises. In addition, the Instructor will assist with preparation of laboratory materials, chemicals and equipment and will coordinate disposal of chemical waste generated during laboratory exercises.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
• Prior teaching experience.
• This position requires the ability to operate common laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meters, and spectrophotometers.
