Gypsy Moth Geospatial Application Developer

Position Summary:
This position is part of a small IT development and operations team that creates and maintains all mapping and information management services for two federally-funded forest pest management programs - the Gypsy Moth Slow the Spread project and the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Predator Database project. The successful candidate will help design, develop, implement and maintain our systems, software, and custom applications, with a focus on GIS applications. This position also works with team members to automate low-level system administration tasks, and to create and maintain web-tier services and front-end applications (mobile, web, and desktop). All development is done in a Microsoft Windows environment using ESRI's ArcGIS software suite and Oracle relational databases and requires proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and SQL .
The position has responsibilities in the following project areas:
Geographic Information Systems: Assist in the development, testing and deployment of custom mapping applications using ESRI's ArcGIS software and implemented using the ArcGIS API for JavaScript and ArcGIS Online. Assist GIS manager with both routine and custom tasks. Maintain and advance existing web applications for mapping, reporting, visualizing, and editing project data.
Data Collection Applications: Assist in testing, maintenance, and continued development of custom mobile data collection applications used for insect population monitoring. Assist with user support, training, and hardware maintenance and inventory.
Decision Support Systems: Assist with all aspects of the STS decision algorithm, including custom map application support and code migration tasks.
Internal Systems: As needed, help create, maintain and test system administration automation processes.

Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in GIS , computer science or related area;
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
-Development experience in JavaScript, Python, and SQL .

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with: ESRI's ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, Collector for ArcGIS;
-Location-based mobile application development experience; . NET ( ASP , C#, VB), C++, Python 3.
