Position Summary:
Network Infrastructure and Services provides network, wireless, public safety, voice, and cable TV services for the faculty, staff, students, and partners at Virginia Tech. NI&S is looking for motivated individuals to be part of an agile team designing and developing applications to support NI&S operations. Applications developed will need to integrate with other software, databases, and directories.

Required Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science or related field
- Strong organizational, communications, and leadership skills
- Experience with modern languages and technologies such as Javascript, Java, Python, HTML , or CSS .
- Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Professional experience developing web applications
- Professional experience developing applications that integrate with external software systems
- Professional experience with Node.js
- Experience with Java EE
- Experience in test-driven development
- Experience with developing in an agile development environment
- Experience with cloud or container-based deployment environments such as AWS or Docker
- Experience with systems integration strategies, such as REST / SOAP web services, messaging, or direct SQL / LDAP
