HR Applications System Administrator

Position Summary:
Human Resources Applications System Administrator is primarily responsible for the support and maintenance of Virginia Tech's Applicant Tracking system ( ATS ). The HR System Administrator manages ATS projects of various sizes and effort, and is the subject matter expert on system capabilities, thereby able to provide consultation to key process owners. In addition, this position resolves operational and functional issues by working closely with the vendor corporate support team, the enterprise systems HR team, and other resources to ensure issues are resolved expeditiously and satisfactorily.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated experience with ATS administration such as User Permission/Security, Workflow, Position Management, Onboarding, Data Collection, and Reporting.
- Demonstrated experience with Banner.
- Experience working in a Higher Education environment.
- Experience handling sensitive/confidential information.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner with all individuals in a diverse, multicultural environment; remain calm in stressful situations; and exercise excellent judgment, discretion, and initiative.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing IT development projects such as new system implementation and system upgrades.
- Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems such as PeopleAdmin.
- Experience working in a Human Resources environment.
- Experience preparing and delivering presentations.
