Associate Dean of Educator Preparation

Reporting directly to the Dean of the College of Education, the Associate Dean's
responsibilities include:
(a) providing leadership for all academic services and operations pertinent to educator preparation;
(b) facilitating cutting-edge curriculum/program development, instructional practices, assessment, and program partnerships that reflect a commitment to equity and social justice;
( c ) assuming responsibility for assessment and evaluation of educator preparation processes related to university policies, national accreditation and state approval;
(d) ensuring high quality experiences for prospective and current students and alumni, including, student enrollment, recruitment, admissions, advising, dispositions, graduation, licensure, and career pathways;
(e) establishing the university as a leader for alternative and innovative educator preparation programs including teacher residency programs and international education experiences; and
(f) managing and promoting successful collaboration between universities, school districts, community colleges, and other community partners.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
Successful candidates must have a strong:
• commitment to diversity and documented ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and school-based personnel;
• Publication and national service record related to educator preparation and development;
• Experience with leading innovative educator preparation programs
• Record of university/school division partnerships
• Experience with national accreditation ( CAEP preferred)

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
An earned doctorate in a field related to educator preparation.

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in acquiring external funding for educator preparation.
• Expertise in online program development and delivery.
• Record of new program development and state approval/program review processes
• Experience with alternative or redesign of educator preparation programs
