Physician - Integrative Medicine

INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE PHYSICIAN

(Part-Time or Full-Time available)

UC Health Integrative Medicine is seeking Board Certified, fellowship trained physician to join a vibrant growing team in leading and expanding the clinical operations; the clinical arm of the University of Cincinnati's Center for Integrative Health and Wellness, in Cincinnati, Ohio. To help lead the Center's clinical programs and wellness efforts locally and be a recognized leader in prevention, optimizing health and wellness, and an integrative approach to health and medicine. This individual will collaborate with other UC Physicians and UC Health's leadership to enrich the strategic direction of the Center and promote wellness, prevention and healthy lifestyles.

Job Qualifications:
  1. Medical Degree (MD, DO)
  2. Current Board Certification, state of Ohio license/eligible
  3. Advanced training (fellowship trained) in Integrative, Functional or Nutritional Medicine
  4. Five plus year's applicable experience in an Integrative Medicine clinical practice or five plus years in a primary care clinical practice with advanced training in Integrative Medicine or related field
  5. Personally exemplify a healthy lifestyle
  6. Excellent communication, leadershipand intrapersonal skills
  7. Knowledge of clinical program development, outcomes/ research, development and reporting and practice leadership
  8. Experience with research and quality improvement methodology
  9. Board certification in Family Medicine or General Internal Medicine preferred


Clinical Practice Requirements
  1. Conduct an integrative/functional medical practice
  2. Perform and interpret wellness medical assessments and lead healthy lifestyle coaching of patients
  3. Lead and direct nutritional, fitness, psychological and other lifestyle therapies
  4. Review labs and imaging studies and provide consultations to patients
  5. Encourage the use of integrative services and specialties within UC Health as a foundation for wellness, prevention and healing across the UC Health Institutes and the UC community


Outreach and Education
  1. Develop and conduct community lectures on health optimization, prevention and wellness related topics
  2. Educate small groups in prevention and holistic health
  3. Enhance clinical performance by participating in training through in-service, clinical skill workshops and program presentations at local and national meetings
  4. Provide direction to and participate in the Center's marketing and communications program


Administrative
  1. Effectively collaborate with the Center's Director, hospital, UCPC administration and UC Health leadership in the reaching of appropriate financial and operationalgoals
  2. Provide supervisory and collaborative duties for other faculty members or advance practice clinicians
  3. Promote the Center to the Greater Cincinnatiand surrounding communities
  4. Participate in the development and the ongoing review of policies, procedures and practice protocols that support integrative medicine, prevention and optimization


Leadership
  1. Establish and nurture relationships with community leaders and partners
  2. Develop/refine comprehensive complimentary services through internal offerings and outside referral network
  3. Work with ongoing Center research initiatives and implement evidence-based practices into clinical practice
  4. Create and communicate both internally and externallya vision for health optimization, prevention and holistic medical approaches
  5. Working with the clinical Business Director, assure the appropriate utilization of resources(human and financial) to assure program growth and system alliance
  6. Working with the Center's Director, represent the Center, the university and the health system at requested conferences, meetings and program development (fund raising) functions
