Clinical Research Professional III - Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine

CLINICAL RESEARCH PROFESSIONAL III

Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine

University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine

Essential Function: Under general supervision from a designated mentor actively participate, plan, evaluate, and coordinate research projects for the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine. Work with minimal oversight, mentor level 1 or 2 employees.

The primary responsibilities for this position will be to recruit cases and perform chart abstractions. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Screening hospital admission and discharge logs for potential stroke patients
  • Performing the consent process with patients and/or family members
  • Performing medical record chart review and abstract
  • Performing initial interview and follow-up interview with patients and/or family members
  • Obtaining blood samples
  • Shipping blood samples in accordance with IATA regulations
  • Performing blood pressure, weight, height, hip, and waist measurements
  • Performing patient home visits
  • Assisting in patient education
  • Requesting neuroimaging from hospital on enrolled patients and performing neuroimaging upload on enrolled patients
  • Act as a liaison with medical staff, University Departments, ancillary departments and/or satellite facilities
  • Maintaining regulatory documentation
  • Performing related duties, as assigned


Education/Experience Requirements:
  • RN required
  • 2-5 years relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the field of Neurology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
