The College of Medicine, Department of Biomedical Informatics is looking to hire a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.

The University of Cincinnati Department of Biomedical Informatics seeks candidates for Assistant and Associate Professor positions in the tenure and research tracks. The Department has strong ties with world-class bioinformatics, data science, and healthcare IT groups at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Hospital. This environment provides rich collaborative opportunities in data and implementation science, translational medicine, and health services research.

We are seeking candidates with expertise in areas such as data integration, machine learning, deep reasoning, and predictive modeling; natural language understanding; information theory; innovative clinical decision support; and development of data-driven learning network systems for improved discovery, prediction, and diagnostics. Responsibilities include establishing an independent research program in methodological and collaborative research, actively participating in the Department's graduate and medical training programs, and synergizing with the Department's clinical informatics support services. Opportunities for informatics research exist across the lifespan including pediatrics and adult medicine and in multiple clinical specialties through the Department's direct association with clinical departments in the College of Medicine, UC Health and Cincinnati Children's.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. and/or M.D. in health or data sciences or a related appropriate field. We are seeking candidates who can develop innovative computational approaches to complex biomedical challenges with high clinical impact. A demonstrated record of high-quality peer-reviewed publications and the ability to successfully compete for grant funding are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in grant development, execution, and project management as a project investigator; creativity, independence, and high motivation; experience in educating, mentoring, and managing trainees and professional staff in a research environment; excellent project management and communications skills; and proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
