Position/Job Summary
Responsible for developing and growing video capture, electronic broadcast of School of Music performances, and video content to be used in classes, publicity and admissions. Coordinate and manage high quality broadcasts from selected performances, train student assistants, maintain associated technology, and work with staff and faculty on copyright logistics. Work with faculty, deans, staff and the director of admissions, to capture and disperse high quality video content to help the school promote its mission and goals.
Position/Job Responsibilities
1. Coordinate and manage electronic broadcasts of selected performances of the School of Music to include multi-camera video capture in recital halls and coordination of live video feeds to the School of Music LCD screens; work with the Recording Services Manager and associated recording students to sync music to video.
2. Work with the ensemble conductors to obtain performance sign-off and publisher information for each piece recorded and broadcast; determine rights clearance and pricing options with copyright holders and/or publishers.
3. Perform editing, post production, and archival duties; serve as liaison with the Office of Information Technology for media delivery and website upload; continue copyright and/or synchronization licensing research and contact for additional usage as required for promotional DVD's, tour bookings, ensemble website uploads, and iTunes U.
4. Manage the content of all LCD screens within the School of Music; determine, edit, update, and provide background images and content such as calendar, recital program, live video feeds, scrolling "news," and emergency alert information; manage the operation, programming, switching system, and power on/ off times; communicate with the School Operations and External Relations Officer to ensure messaging and presentation adheres to the appropriate branding criteria and marketing objectives.
5. Implement and manage classroom video systems. Coordinate graduate student managers and training sessions each fall; Manage portable student teaching video systems and upgrades.
6. Serve as the School of Music videographer and editor for appropriate documentary, archival, and marketing needs.
7. Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse and respectful College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to the College. Promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work and living environment and engage in educational opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion.
Position/Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience using technology associated with videography and film editing or the equivalent combination of education and experience; excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment; ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize projects, establish and meet deadlines; supervisory experience and the ability to work with a variety of groups and individuals across a broad spectrum of student professional artists are required. Knowledge of events management is preferred.
