Nursing Field Education Coordinator

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The School of Nursing within the College of Health Science is seeking a full-time staff member. The Nurse Field Education Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the practicum/field experience processes for the School of Nursing in the College of Health Sciences. This is a full-time position that will report to the Nurse Field Education Coordinator Supervisor and work closely with academic leadership, faculty, as well as other administrators in the college, and the Central Office of Field Experience.

This position will be based out of our Minneapolis, MN office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist School of Nursing students in completing and gaining faculty approval for practicum application materials and locating field placement sites as needed across a variety of nursing programs (BSN, MSN, DNP).
Track and maintain student field education files, field education applications, and field placement site information.
Work closely with university contracts administrators and serve as a primary affiliation agreement liaison between university and outside practicum agencies.
Assist specialty coordinators and field experience faculty in resolving student problems arising out of the practicum experience.
Assists in identifying and developing new initiatives to increase student practicum experience satisfaction. Act as student point of contact concerning practicum matters.
Assists in developing and maintaining mechanisms to communicate practicum experience policies and procedures to students, academic advising, program directors, and faculty/specialization coordinators.
Manage and administer student survey tool to monitor student practicum progress and satisfaction.
Under the direction of Director of Field Experience and in collaboration with the Program Directors, Specialty Coordinators and Nursing Field Education Supervisor:
1.Update field education forms and website materials as necessary.
2.Assume initiative for developing new practicum forms/documents.
3.Maintain a field education manual outlining the mission, purpose, and objectives of the field experience as well as description of all field training policies and procedures. Help train and mentor new team members.

External Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
The individual must possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in the health or human services areas.
RN licensure required, must be active and unencumbered.
Masters in Health related field preferred but not required.
Experience in the area of academic or other student advising is preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, written and verbal communication, detail-oriented, multitasking, and organizational skills.
Excellent time management skills with an ability to set and meet deadlines.
Creative, innovative, and strategic thinking as well as the ability to work independently and with faculty and graduate students at a distance.
Ability to anticipate future trends and problems and plan for them accordingly.
Demonstrate proficiency in operating Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Ability to learn Walden\u0027s administrative database.
Experience in online distance-learning environment a plus.
Experience working with graduate students in an educational environment.
