Job Summary
The Interlibrary Loan Assistant will assist in processing the day to day lending, borrowing and document delivery of library materials. These processes involve locating books and articles we own in Scribner Library as well as materials held in Hoge remote storage facility. Preparing requests for delivery via courier, UPS, or electronic for libraries in the United States and internationally.

Processing incoming materials that we borrow from libraries and notifying our patrons of their arrival. This office uses multiple databases and equipment for delivery. The Assistant will assist in various data entry tasks.

Although some processes are repetitive, attention to detail must be maintained throughout. The applicant should be prepared to effectively communicate with patrons and constituencies via phone or in person. Ability to work in a very busy office with a customer service atmosphere.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be able to commit to the full term of employment
Have significant comfort using computers and systems
Ability to recognize and use Call Numbers (LC and Dewey)
Ability to use online Library Catalog to locate books and journal articles
Comfort with intense detail and good memory skills
Willingness to be trained in multiple tasks over course of job
Good communication skills
