The Decoda Skidmore Chamber Music Institute Head Resident provides supervision for an on-campus residential community of approximately 40 young musicians. This position leads a resident staff and helps plan and oversee co-curricular activities associated with the chamber music institute, provides support for community events and works with the administrative team and the resident chamber music ensemble (Decoda) to ensure the smooth operation of the program. This position requires living in the dorms, working nights and weekends, and fostering a sense of community among a diverse group of students that includes students over and under the age of 21. Ideally the successful candidate will possesses strong leadership qualities, good communication and organizational skills, exercise good judgment, have a musical or arts administration background, and be familiar with Skidmore College and the Saratoga Springs area. Previous experience working with students in a residential environment or arts intensive is desired and familiarity with the Decoda ensemble is a plus. Cover letter and references are required. This is a temporary, full-time position during the month of July; remuneration is $2,120 plus room and board.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be over 21 years of age, available from July 6 - 22 (including evenings and weekends) and have related previous work experience.
