Continuing Track Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship & Design

CONTINUING TRACK FACULTY POSITION IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP & DESIGN

The Department of Business Administration and Horn Entrepreneurship at the University of Delaware invite applications for a full-time, continuing track Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship & Design. Candidates for this non-tenure track position must hold a PhD in entrepreneurship, business or a field related to design, new product development or technology innovation/commercialization. Preference will be given to candidates with: direct entrepreneurship experience; an established track record of leading design, new product development or technology innovation initiatives; and/or demonstrated excellence in teaching entrepreneurship & design using experiential pedagogy. A workload split between teaching and an administrative appointment as Associate Director, Graduate Programs for Horn Entrepreneurship is anticipated. As Associate Director, the candidate will be part of a dynamic team and play an important role in optimizing the impact of entrepreneurship education on the University, its graduate students and other stakeholders. Specific responsibilities will include: scheduling courses, supervising adjunct faculty, identifying opportunities for new and improved curricular offerings, creating synergies with co-curricular programs and supporting nascent ventures.

We are seeking a candidate who understands and has the potential to improve upon best practices for entrepreneurship education, including an emphasis on evidence-based insights/practices, experiential learning and external engagement. We are also seeking an individual who is comfortable working at the fuzzy front end of the innovation process, partnering across academic colleges and disciplines and spanning the boundaries between the University and the broader community.
