Duties and Responsibilities
The H&S Dean's Office seeks a student Media & Data Management Assistant to support the Summer Scholars program, as well as assessment and experiential learning activities within the school.
Position is for Fall 2018, with the possibility of renewal for Spring 2019. Approximately 10-15 hours/week, M-F, between 9am and 5pm. Student must attend a New Student Employment Class ( NSEP ) if you have never worked at Ithaca College before.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and troubleshoot online forms using form builder platforms (Cognito, Qualtrics, Google Forms) to support internships, independent studies, student conference funding, and the Summer Scholar program, among others.
2. Develop and update web and social media content for H&S experiential learning programs, Integrative Studies, and general education, under the supervision of the Associate Dean or Program Specialist.
3. Miscellaneous projects related to the H&S Summer Scholars program, including organizing outreach events, monitoring application submission data, and processing applications for review.
4. Assemble and organize assessment data regarding H&S General Education, CLA , and Summer Scholars program for analysis and presentation.
5. Other duties as assigned.
We expect our intern to have a willingness to learn and possess the self-motivation to continuously expand their knowledge.
The Media & Data Management Intern must also demonstrate professionalism at all times: be reliable, work hard, ask questions and accept/incorporate feedback, complete tasks accurately and on time, and exhibit dedication and perseverance.
Required Qualifications
Sophomore standing or above, in good academic and judicial standing, with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA .
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Good organizational and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail required.
Comfortable handling data, interfacing with web-based platforms, and developing media content.
Ability to learn new software independently, with minimal instruction.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Docs (e.g., ability to filter, sort, use formulas, create pivot tables, make charts, etc).
Familiarity with one or more of a variety of software packages in a PC environment preferred, including: Adobe Professional, Web Profile Manager or other website development tool, Taskstream, Sakai, Cognito form-builder, and Qualtrics.
Preference for H&S students in any major, with the requisite data, technology, and media skills.
