Duties and Responsibilities

The Center for Civic Engagement is seeking students who are interested in serving as program drivers for a variety of service-learning initiatives at IC that are occurring in and around Tompkins County. Student drivers will be responsible for picking up program participants and transporting them in Ithaca College vehicles to and from their destination in a timely manner. Hours per week will vary depending upon the schedule of events that will occur each semester.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

Be available to transport students to and from locations as determined by the Center for Civic Engagement

Be available at least two afternoons every week during the semester

Be available at least one weekend of every month during the fall and spring semesters.

Be available to provide 2 - 5 hours of transportation each week for CCE programs

Be able to pick up and return reserved vehicles on time and to their designated location.

Required Qualifications

Possess a valid New York State driver's license.

Possess a clean New York State driving record.

Possess a minimum of two years driving experience.

Possess the skills and abilities to become certified through the Office of Risk Management to drive Ithaca College vehicles in and around Tompkins County, NY.

Be in good judicial and academic standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Past experience driving Ithaca College vehicles

An interest in service-learning and volunteerism.

Sophomore standing and above in Fall '16

Be available during the entire 2016 - 2017 academic year.
