Overview

The Assistant Executive Director, Digital Content and Communications, will oversee the Ivy League's digital media initiatives, including the Ivy League Network, and play an active role in the League's overall communications strategy. This position will also have responsibilities as serving as the primary media contact for selected sports as needed, creating written and visual content for the Ivy League website, social media and additional platforms in line with the League's strategy. This position will also have select event management duties at Ivy League championship events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day responsibilities of the Ivy League Network.
  • Oversee the Ivy League visual identity to foster uniformity across league office and institutional content
  • Serve as the direct contact with the League's Ivy League Network platform provider
  • Play an active role in the league's core messaging strategy and communications plans
  • Serve as the direct contact and cultivate relationships with the League's Multimedia Directors
  • Produce and enhance the League's on-demand content to promote core messaging points
  • Assist the League's television programming, including scheduling, commercial inventory, promotional content and monitoring the national landscape
  • Play an active role in the league's core messaging strategy and communications plans
  • Oversee the Ivy League Network's Twitter account and serve an active role in the overall social and digital content strategy
  • Serve as a primary media relations contact for select sports as needed Prepare and design select presentations for Ivy League staff and League administrators
  • Serve as the on-site contact for television partners during regular season and championship events
  • Collect, organize, analyze and distribute television ratings and viewership reports to key internal audiences
  • Oversee the live production of League championships and additional events
  • Maintain and expand league partnerships for digital content designed at maximizing the exposure of the League to target audiences
  • Manage the organization and scheduling of League PSAs to Ivy League Network broadcasts and television partners
  • Contribute to the functions of the Ivy League office, as needed, including participation in staff meetings, meetings with Ivy League institutional staff members, and other office activities.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in video production, communications or related field, and two to three years of experience required.
  • The successful candidate must be proficient with technology, creative in providing solutions to complex and sensitive issues and be able to work independently and in a team setting to efficiently meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Candidates must also have strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience in fields of marketing, multimedia and technology.
  • Extensive expertise in nonlinear video editing, particularly the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, PhotoShop, Illustrator) and/or Final Cut Pro.
  • Experience with live video production and operation of audio/video production and streaming equipment.
  • Expertise in layout and graphic design.
  • Experience working with the media.
  • Background in broadcast or cable television media production preferred.
  • Game-day/event operation experience encouraged.

A minimum of two to three years of experience in digital media with exposure to communications/media relations or a related field, preferably in a college athletics environment; a willingness to embrace technology and proven ability to adapt to the constantly changing digital media landscape; the ability to show initiative and work with limited direction and supervision; an extensive knowledge of a variety of sports; an understanding of the Ivy League philosophy of balancing academics and athletics.
