Lecturer of Graduate Clinical Coordination

The Old Dominion University Darden College of Education is inviting applications for a position start date of June 1st, 2018: Lecturer of Graduate Clinical Coordination. The primary responsibilities for this 12-month, non tenure-track, renewable position is to serve as the Clinical Coordinator; manage the field placement program for Master's and PhD counseling students, teach graduate counseling courses, and advise graduate students. Teaching duties typically involve MSEd or PhD practicum and internship sections, skills courses, and/or supervision courses. While participation in state, regional, and/or national service is encouraged, the bulk of service duties will involve clinical coordination. There is no expectation for research as a Lecturer, but the college and institution encourages all instructional faculty to participate in research. This position reports to the Counseling & Human Services department chair and is expected to work collaboratively with the Counseling program faculty.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
Professional Identity as a Counselor Educator and Supervisor.
Ability to implement CACREP -standards related to Practicum and Internship.
Effective communication, collaboration, organization, and leadership skills.
Ability to provide clinical supervision, support supervisee development, assess deficits and strengths, and enact professional development plans in support of gatekeeping efforts.
1 year post-license full-time clinical experience.
Experience ensuring adherence to state and federal guidelines governing medical records, and related guidelines informing mental healthcare provision.

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision or closely related discipline from a CACREP -accredited program.

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification
Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia or equivalent clinical counseling license. Able to be awarded LPC in Virginia within 12 months of hire if out of state.

Preferred Qualifications
Eligibility to be registered to supervise counseling residents in Virginia.
Familiarity with Practicum and Internship placement issues associated with a mid-size urban University setting.
