Postdoctoral Research Associate REVISED


The Autism Centers of Excellence project "Connecting the Dots: Early Detection, Diagnosis, and Treatment for Developmental Delays" (PI: Diana Robins, Ph.D., AJ Drexel Autism Institute) at the University of Connecticut is recruiting applicants for a postdoctoral position (Site PI: Deborah Fein, Ph.D., University of Connecticut). The successful applicant will play a key role on this NIH-funded research project investigating outcomes of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) detected by pediatricians using several different strategies.

Fellows will be encouraged to take part in the intellectually rich Psychological Sciences Department and related departments at the University of Connecticut, and will have opportunities to accrue clinical hours supervised by two licensed psychologists (Deborah Fein, Ph.D., and Marianne Barton, Ph.D.). The fellow will be responsible for managing the study, along with Drs. Fein and Barton, for communicating with pediatricians, for participating in training and supervision of a full-time bachelor's level research assistant and several clinical graduate students, and for conducting evaluations of children ages 18 to 54 months at risk for ASD.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD in a relevant field, such as clinical psychology, with experience and interest in autism spectrum disorder.
  • Strong organizational and assessment skills.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and experience evaluating young children is necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiarity with the ADOS-2 is a plus.
  • A record of research productivity is also desirable.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This will be a full-time, 12-month, annually renewable position. Salary will be commensurate with experience, and will be consistent with NIH NRSA stipends. The start date is flexible.
