4-H Program Assistant - Fairfax County

Position Summary:
This is a seasonal position of approximately 25 hours per week, not to extend past September 28, 2018.
The 4-H Program Assistant will work with 4-H Staff, youth, adults, families and community resources to deliver, and evaluate 4-H educational programs designed to teach life skills to youth and families. The 4-H Program Assistant will also perform duties necessary to assist the County Extension Agent in the day-to-day conduct of 4-H Programming. Work includes assisting with the tasks necessary in planning, developing, and directing educational programs. This employee must exhibit qualities of independent judgment.

Required Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with professionals and volunteers, knowledge of working with volunteers, ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, ability to create educational and promotional materials, ability to relate effectively to young people and adults.

Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge and experience in the 4-H Program, knowledge of the interests and behavior of the program participants, skill in planning a variety of programs for the target audiences, ability to supervise the work of others, knowledge and experience working with youth and adults in an educational setting.
