Full Time Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor in the Music Department

The Department of Music at Elmhurst College is seeking a full-time visiting faculty member to serve as Director of Music Education, supervise student teaching, and teach additional courses. This is a one-year position starting August 16, 2018, with possible renewal for a second year.

Essential Functions
. Administer all aspects of the Music Education program including curriculum development, student teaching, budget management, planning/administering events.
. Recruit students to the Music Department and serve as a liaison to high school/middle school music programs.
. Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to, music education courses, and student teaching supervision.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in Music with at least one degree in Music Education. Prior teaching experience at the high school and/or college level required. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, professional and scholarly experience, and the ability to attract and retain students.

The Music Department offers degrees in Music, Music Education, Music Business, Music Performance, Theory/Composition, Jazz Studies and to nearly 200 students.
