Higher Education - Assistant Professor

The Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership at Old Dominion University invites candidates with strong scholarly and professional achievement to apply for a tenure-track position centered on college student learning, development, outcomes, and assessment. The department is committed to recruiting, supporting, and fostering a diverse community of outstanding faculty, graduate students, and staff. The successful candidate will hold a 10-month, academic year position and will contribute to the advancement of programs with a commitment to academic excellence in research and teaching.
Responsibilities of the Position: The successful candidate will be expected to (1) conduct an active scholarship agenda leading to refereed publications and external grant funding; (2) teach face-to-face and live-video online courses; and (3) advise students, including chairing and/or serving on dissertation committees.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
(1) Evidence of scholarly, published research in peer-reviewed journals related to one or more of the following areas, college student learning, development, outcomes and assessment, human development or psychometrics; (2) ability to assume graduate-level teaching responsibilities and effectively incorporate technology in face-to-face and live-video online courses; and (3) ability to supervise graduate students and direct dissertation research.

An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited university in the field of higher education, student affairs, educational psychology, or a related field
