Summary of Position Campus Health Center seeks a licensed medical provider to provide primary care to a diverse student population (and their dependents age two (2) and older) in a team-oriented, inclusive and welcoming environment. Services include diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries, making appropriate referrals when appropriate, and following established standards of care. To work in a collaborative environment with the Personal Counseling Center to aid in student mental health care. To provide diagnosis and treatment for minor work-related injuries for all University employees. To provide health and wellness education to patients and campus community. To collaborate with staff on improving programs, policies, protocols, procedures and educational materials through continuous quality improvement initiatives. Works in partnership within the Division of Student Affairs to integrate the work of Birkam Health Center into the overall mission, vision and core values of the University. The assignment length can/may differ between 10 and 12 months in duration annually and can/may also differ between 4-5 days per week. The assignment dates/schedule may be flexible and will be negotiated with the Birkam Health Center Director.

Required Qualifications

Required Education Degree Completion from an accredited college/university program resulting in a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or Master's &/or Doctoral Level Nursing Degree with NP Certification.

Required Work Experience Two (2) or more years of clinical experience in family practice and/or internal medicine and/or public health clinic setting and/or college health setting. Must have experience with electronic medical record system. Experience in providing supervision of mid-level providers and/or nursing staff (M.D., D.O.)

Required Licenses and Certifications Current, valid, unrestricted Medical License (M.D., D.O., N.P.) to practice in the state of Michigan. Michigan DEA license or eligibility. CPR / ALS certification (active or within 30 days of hire).

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered At least 1 year of clinical experience in family practice and/or internal medicine and/or public health clinic setting and/or college health setting working as a medical provider.
Knowledge and experience with acute care for illness and injury, including but not limited to wound care, laceration care (w. suturing). Experience with outpatient mental health care, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADD / ADHD preferred. Experience in college student health care preferred. Experience in occupational medicine preferred.
