Senior Telecommunications Project Manager

Position Summary:
Serves as a senior telecommunications project manager on special projects, and large scale new construction projects. Manages crews that perform network upgrades, cable plant installations, telecommunications room build-outs, wireless equipment upgrades and MAC service orders. Serves as a resource to junior project managers and crew leaders to assist in resolving installation problems and to clarify construction details with contractors. Attends construction meetings on capital projects and coordinates communications installation work with other contractors, other trades and project planners. Assists in the preparation of designs and budget proposals for network upgrades in university buildings that include network hardware, cable pathways and specifications for communications equipment rooms.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent level of training and experience; experience in electronics or telecommunications; proficient using office equipment and applications such as computers, internet browsers, databases, word processing and spreadsheet applications; must have strong communications and interpersonal skills and be able to function as a team member; ability to read, understand, and apply blueprints and job specifications; ability to work with minimal supervision and accurately follow instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience of building construction practices, electrical theory, network design or project management.
