Technology Support Professional

TWO POSITIONS WILL BE FILLED FROM THIS RECRUITMENT
Provide technical guidance, knowledge, and support of university-managed IT resources including, but not limited to: Networked and Stand-Alone Workstations, Laptops, Mobile Devices and Virtual Desktops, Cloud Services such as Box or Office 365, Local and Networked Printers and Client and Server-Side applications. Exercise excellent customer service skills in support of all faculty and staff members of the University through building relationships, documenting work clearly and completely, following up and following through on your commitments, learning continuously and delivering solid operational metrics.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
Basic working knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot computer and mobile operating systems (Windows 7/8/8.1/10, MacOS 10.X, iOS, Android), hardware, software, peripherals, and appropriate system management and security tools in a network environment. Efficient time management to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects and deadlines. Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, team members, and leadership.

Level and type of experience
Basic experience in information technology support.

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Working knowledge of information technology support in a corporate, administrative, or educational setting.
Familiarity with IT asset management suites such as Ivanti, LANDesk, Altiris, SCCM or Remedy. Usage of a ticketing system such as Remedy, ServiceNow, Footprints or Zendesk. Custom configuration of a computer purchase to meet end-user requirements - Understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy. Enterprise-level anti-virus / anti-malware suites. Virtualization technologies such as Citrix, VMWare and VirtualBox. Remote support applications such as Microsoft Remote Desktop, Dameware, Apple Remote Desktop - Familiarity with Linux distributions, software and management tools. Basic scripting in VBScript, Batch or Powershell. CompTIA A+ , Network+ or Security+ certification.

Conditions of Employment
This is a Monday through Friday daytime position.
Hourly (wage) employees are restricted to working 29 hours per week on average or 1,500 hours in total in the May 1 - April 20 period. This position does not have health insurance, retirement, or leave.
This is an open until filled recruitment. This recruitment may close after the five-day required posting period when a suitable pool of applicants has been generated.
