Position Summary:
The successful candidate is expected to work independently to accomplish research project(s) by performing experiments (both in vitro and in vivo), data collection, data analysis, meeting presentation, manuscript preparation, laboratory organization, maintenance, and animal care. The research projects aims to study the role of Meis1 gene on vascularization of ischemic hindlimb using transgenic mice. The multi approaches, including biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and physiological functional analysis, as well as animal surgery, Laser Doppler scanning, and histopathology techniques, will be used in the studies. The employee will provide various supports and trainings in projects from cell isolation, cell culture, and characterization to animal surgical model of ischemic disease, anesthesia, euthanasia, and post-ischemic analysis. The position is grant funded.

Required Qualifications:
The candidate should hold a bachelor degree (or above) in the biological sciences with the equivalent wet lab experience, especially in mammalian cell culture, animal surgery as a minimum. Knowledge of cell biology, genotyping, transgenic mouse breeding, animal survival surgery, and cardiovascular disease models would be taken as advantage and highly desired. The employee should be self-motivated after initial supervision, willing to learn new experimental skills, and to work individually and collaboratively with a variety of individuals for more than one projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:
MS, MD or PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, Genetics or equivalent field; previous experience in wet lab research, lab maintenance, and mouse surgery.
