VAP - Water Resources Engineering


The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Bucknell University seeks applicants for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in the area of water resources, starting in August 2018. This position is available as a result of a leave replacement, with possible reappointment pending Administrative approval. Candidates are expected to have an earned doctorate or be ABD in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related engineering field, at time of appointment.


Applications must include a Bucknell-specific cover letter, teaching statement (2 page maximum), research statement (2 page maximum), and current curriculum vitae.

  1. Articulate your plans to provide outstanding classroom and laboratory instruction in core water resources and fluid mechanics courses;

  2. Describe how you will be able to contribute more broadly to the civil engineering curriculum by teaching core civil engineering courses, such as numerical methods, or graphics;

  3. Describe your commitment to diversity and inclusive pedagogy and any relevant experience, expertise, or plans in these areas.
